Community Guidelines + Safe Space Policy
Last updated: January 26, 2026
WOOT is here to support and uplift. To protect a safe space for everyone, we ask all members to follow these guidelines in any WOOT community area (events, group chats, online communities, comments, etc.).
What we stand for
-
Respect
-
Compassion
-
Confidentiality
-
Encouragement
The basics
Be kind and respectful.
No bullying, harassment, hate speech, threats, discrimination, or shaming.
Confidentiality matters.
What someone shares in a WOOT space should stay there. Do not screenshot, repost, record, or share someone else’s story without clear permission.
No graphic or triggering details.
We can talk about hard topics, but keep descriptions respectful and safe for everyone reading.
No medical/legal advice.
Sharing personal experience is welcome. Telling someone what they “should” do medically, legally, or professionally is not.
No solicitation or spam.
No selling, recruiting, or promoting unrelated businesses/services. No fundraising links without approval.
Safety + crisis support
WOOT is not an emergency service.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911.
If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (U.S. Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
Moderation
To protect this community:
-
Posts or comments may be removed if they violate these guidelines
-
Members may be warned or removed for repeated issues
-
If someone appears to be at imminent risk of harm, we may contact emergency services
